The festival is expected to attract the participation of 150 domestic and foreign coffee businesses.

The festival, which is organised by the Dak Lak People’s Committee, aims to promote coffee exports and attract investment so that Vietnamese coffee will become a world known trademark.

Accordingly, the exhibition will display 216 works of 136 authors elected from 458 works of 156 authors sent to register. This will be the first time that a ceramic exhibition is introduced to local and foreign people about art ceramic works of Vietnam which have been created in the last five years. This is an opportunity to honor authors, artisans in the field of art ceramic of our country.

Sculptor Pham Van Hang worked on a 36-tonne granite block for one year in the southern province ofBinh Duong to create this statue, which is 25 tonnes.

The work is nearly 2.5m high, 3.3m wide and 2m thick, with the signature of Doctor Yersin. 

On the back side of the statue is a famous saying in Latin, the abbreviation of which is DA LAT.

This is the fourth statue and the nicest work of Doctor Yersin that sculptor Pham Van Hang has made so far.

Hang said former PM Vo Van Kiet called for funding of VND100 million for this work.

The song was chosen to convey a sense of the Vietnamese land and its people, Vietnamese students took great pride in performing the song, according to Pham Ngoc An, student at Foreign Language facility.

Also as part of the festival, Vietnamese students decorated the country’s exhibition space on the theme of “Vietnam-a hidden charm”, introducing international students and teachers to some characteristic dishes from Northern, Central and Southern Vietnam.

The Pushkin State Russian Language Institute is the principle national centre for teaching Russian as a foreign language. Every year thousands of students come from over 60 countries all over the world to study there. Currently, the Institute receives 30 Vietnamese students for training each year.

The relics on its list include Can Chanh Palace, the display system at the Hue Royal Fine Arts Museum, Thien Mu Pagoda, the tomb of King Tu Duc, and royal costumes.

The center raised US$6 million for conservation and restoration between 1992 and 2008, Phung Phu, its director, said.
